Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.
An important political figure stated the vandalism left him without words and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine victims by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
