The artist has given the entirety of his £25,000 Mercury Prize cash to the MVT, which operates to save the United Kingdom's small music venues.
Fender was presented with the award on mid-October as his third album the album was named the outstanding release of the last 12 months.
He has decided to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in appreciation of the crucial part small stages had in his beginning days.
"As an artist couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the performances I played around the area, and beyond, when I was just getting going," remarked Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."
From early 2023 onward, more than 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – approximately one-sixth of the total UK scene.
Over the past year, top acts including Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the trust in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which supports smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also joined in, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support thirty-eight small stages across the UK.
The money assisted locations that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges arising from water damage, blazes and bereavements, as well as permit problems, conflicts and sound issues.
Some locations were granted funding support in modernizing infrastructure and gear that directly benefitted musicians and audiences.
"The concept that money from performances in big venues backs the smaller venues, where it begins for musicians like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has stated.
He is not the first artist to contribute his honor prize money to charitable organizations.
When they won the trophy in the mid-90s for their record the album, lead singer the singer announced that the group would contribute their prize money to the charity War Child.
During 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite split her award between a few charities, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.
"I also gave a thousand pounds to my local community centre, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they required new equipment," Ms Dynamite told a publication.
Two years ago, the band contributed their funds to the youth organization that developed their act, in addition to other independent music bodies.
Also winners that year the group contributed their award to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was found to have the condition.
"Receiving the award was ample," stated singer the singer. "The money was the bonus but we didn't require the bonus, because we had the cake. So our winning touched another person's life."
Recently, the trust announced it had saved a couple of grassroots venues in that region, by transferring them to local control.
The Joiners in that area and the second in the city were acquired under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is supported by the arts council and enthusiasts who purchase "ownership units" in the properties.
